Arranged for Concert Band
A self-taught English composer, Ernest Austin (1874 - 1947) wrote a number of very melodic and quality pieces that earned him performances at the London Proms. His pieces are characterised by subtle harmonies that allow him to develop melodies expressing a rich palette of sound colours.
He is the brother of the baritone and composer Frederic Austin and began composing in 1907, after a career in business.
This arrangement for wind band is made from the third piece of the "English Pastorals Op.43" for solo piano.
