The 17th sonata for piano solo is commissioned by Music Center De Bijloke Ghent and composed for pianist Vitaly Samoshko, http://vitalysamoshko.com.
This is the third of 4 sonatas dedicated specifically to the site 'De Bijloke'.
Standing in the middle of the central court (which I presumed was formerly a garden, or an orchard) I discovered that, coinciding with the cardinal points, one may obeserve 4 totally different views.
This sonata evokes what what I saw, and felt, looking southwards.
The entire title is 17th Sonata 'Orchard's rim South:White aisle'
