The 18th sonata for piano solo is commissioned by Music Center De Bijloke Ghent and composed for pianist Roland Peelman. This is the fourth of 4 sonatas dedicated specifically to the site 'De Bijloke'.
Standing in the middle of the central court (which I presumed was formerly a garden, or an orchard) I discovered that, coinciding with the cardinal points, one may obeserve 4 totally different views.
This sonata evokes what what I saw, and felt, looking eastwards.
