Who are we in this complicated world?
if we come we come to sleep we are His drowsy ones
if we come to wake we are in His hands
if we come to weeping
we are His cloud full of raindrops
and if we come to laughing
we are His lightning in that moment
if we come to anger and battle it is the reflection of His wrath
and if we come to peace and pardon it is the reflection of His love

Jalal ad-Din Rumi was a philosopher, poet and Sufistic of Persian descent. Sufism is a mystical, spiritual movement from early Islam.

Who are we?
The all-embracing nature of the Cosmos as we can perceive is impossible for us to comprehend.
Everything that is seems to be an infinitely complex variation on a single primordial rhythm that has started to move at some point.
The awe-inspiring thought that we and everything around us came from this primordial sound is fascinating.
Every soul seeks a life purpose in infinitely different ways, but our origin and our destiny is what deeply connects us all.

als we gaan slapen zijn we Zijn slaapkopjes
als we wakker worden zijn we in Zijn handen
als we huilen
zijn wij Zijn wolk met regendruppels
en als we lachen
zijn we in het moment Zijn bliksem
als we strijden
dan is dat de weerspiegeling van Zijn Toorn
als we vergeven
is het de weerspiegeling van Zijn liefde
wie zijn wij in deze ingewikkelde wereld?

Jalal ad-Din Rumi was een filosoof, dichter en Soefi mysticus van Perzische afkomst. Het Soefisme is een mystieke, spirituele stroming uit de vroege islam.

Alles wat is, lijkt een oneindig complexe variatie te zijn op een enkel oer-ritme, dat op een bepaald moment in beweging is gekomen.
De ontzagwekkende gedachte, dat wij en alles om ons heen zijn voortgekomen uit deze oer-klank is fascinerend.
Iedere ziel zoekt op oneindig verschillende manieren een levensdoel, maar onze oorsprong en onze bestemming is wat ons allen ten diepste verbindt.
