Biography
After his studies at the music academy of Arlon (B), Yorick entered the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in flute, as well as the Conservatory of Esch-sur-Alzette (L) where he obtained his diplomas in instrumentation/orchestration, pedagogy/methodology, and flute. He then enriched his training with various flutists, notably at the Luxembourg Philharmonic. Yorick is laureate of the Horlait-Dapsens foundation scholarship and second prize of the European competition of Luxembourg, he also won a first prize at the Sinfionietta competition of Brussels as well as a first prize at the Dexia classic competition, a gold medal of the Luxembourg competition for young soloists and the second prize of the laureates' competition of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, which earned him a triple selection at the Musiq'3 festival and led him to perform at the "Académia Belgica" of Rome. He has played with the youth orchestra of the Greater Region, the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Luxembourg, the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Band of the Grand-Ducal Military Music, the European Academic Orchestra and play second chair of the Luxembourg Wind Orchestra. He also works as a flutist at the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra
In 2018, he was appointed flute teacher at the UGDA (L), and in 2019, lecturer at the conservatory of Esch-sur-Alzette (L).
As an arranger/orchestrator, Yorick is published by "HaFaBra Music" (B), "Soldano" Editions (Fr) and "Baton Music" (NL).
