Biography
Tim Kleren (Luxembourg, 1982) is a full-time drummer at the military band of Luxembourg, also composer, conductor and percussion teacher.
At the age of 6 he received his first drum lessons at the School of Music in Pétange. He later studied percussion in the class of Paul Mootz, drums with Serge Kettenmeyer at the Conservatory in Esch-sur-Alzette, and later on, also drums in the class of Ginter Alain at the conservatory in Luxemburg City, where he get '1ier Prix' diploma.
In 2008 he graduated in Instrumentation and Orchestration and instrumentation in the class of Marco Pütz and passed his master’s degree ‘HaFa Direction’ with Jan Cober in Maastricht in 2016.
Tim was also an active member in several community bands, including the Music Society 'Harmonie de Soleuvre' (since 1990), Ensemble de Percussion 'Mariendall' (since 1993), Cover Band Toxic, Big Band Spectrum and the Brass Band of the Conservatory in Esch-sur-Alzette.
From 2001 to 2007 he returned to the School of Music in Pétange, where he taught percussion, drums and chamber music. He has been a military musician in the Luxemburg Grand Ducal Military Orchestra since 2004, has been teaching at the Union Grand-Duc Adolphe since 2007, has been conducting the band of Rosport since 2010, and has been artistic director of the 'Band of Folschette' from 2012 to 2019 (73 musicians). After that, he has been engaged be the artistic director of the Band of Mensdorf.
He released more than 40 original works for various ensembles. His pieces are currently performed in Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, Singapore and Japan.

Tim Kleren (Luxemburg, 1982) is fulltime drummer bij de militaire kapel van Luxemburg en daarnaast ook componist, dirigent en slagwerk docent.
Op 6-jarige leeftijd kreeg hij zijn eerste drumlessen van Johny Frantz aan de Peting School of Music. Later volgde hij percussie les aan het Escher Conservatorium bij Paul Mootz, waar hij cum laude afstudeerde. Tegelijkertijd studeerde hij drums bij Serge Kettenmeyer en Ginter Alain waar hij de '1ier Prix' behaalde.
In 2008 studeerde hij af in orkestratie en instrumentatie bij Marco Pütz. Hij behaalde zijn master HaFaDirectie bij de heer Jan Cober in Maastricht in 2016.
Tim is actief lid van verschillende communitybands, waaronder de Music Society 'Harmonie de Soleuvre' (sinds 1990), Ensemble de Percussion 'Mariendall' (sinds 1993), Coverband Toxic, Big Band Spectrum en de Brassband van het Escher Conservatorium.
Van 2001 tot 2007 keerde hij terug naar de Peting School of Music, waar hij percussie, drums en kamermuziek doceerde. Hij is sinds 2003 militair musicus bij het Luxemburgs Groothertogelijk Militair Orkest, geeft les aan de Union Grand-Duc Adolphe sinds 2007, leidt sinds 2010 het 'Musek Concordia Rosport' en is artistiek directeur sinds 2012 de 'Foulschter Musik'.
Hij heeft meer dan 30 stukken uitgebracht voor verschillende ensembles. Zijn werken worden momenteel uitgevoerd in Luxemburg, Duitsland, België, Nederland, Zwitserland ,Portugal, Singapore en Japan.
