Wouter Vande Ginste (Tielt, July 1973) started his education as a pianist. He became Master of Music at the Conservatory of Gent with Johan Duijck. After that he specialised with Boyan Vodenitcharov, and he started jazz (Marc Matthijs, Eric Vermeulen).
He also started singing (bass voice) with Zeger Vandersteene in the same conservatory. After that he continued singing with Catherine Vandevelde in the conservatories of Bruges and Tielt where he finished his studies with her in 2008.

He took master classes with Graham Johnson, Loh-Siew Tuan, Sarah Walker, Martin Kränzle, Axel Everaert, Catrin Wyn-Davies, Catherine Dubosc in Paris and Krisztina Laki in Vienna.
As a pianist he recorded the first Sonata for Piano by Michael Tippett and during four years he was the pianist of « The Concord Jazz ensemble ».
He played often with Dirk Brossé conducting Royal Flemish Philharmonic, Beethovenacademie, Prima la Musica (2004-2006).

He adores contemporary and avant-garde music: as a pianist in the child theatre tour « Action Zjoezjoe » (2006) in Belgium and Switzerland, in concerts with music of John Cage and L. Berio (2010), and as a singer in projects with « Aquarius » (music of Garrett List, Knaifel, Rihm, Pärt and Eisler in Flagey, De Singel, Concertgebouw Brugge) and “Brussels Vocal Project” (Botanique, JazzStation). As a composer he wrote for piano solo, voice and chamber music ensemble. „CAFE“ is recorded by Els Cooman in 2006 (label De Rode Pomp).

He sang the role of Sarastro with „Operaplus“. In the summer of 2005 he participated in a lyric production in Flemish Opera Gent with arias of Halévy and Verdi.
He sang solos in “Requiem” of Fauré, M. Haydn and Brahms, and in “Membra Jesu Nostri” of Buxtehude in Bruges, Gent, Tielt, and Lille (directions Bart Snauwaert, François Droulez, Sabine Haenebalcke) (2005 and 2012), "Kaffeecantate" Bach (Villa Servais 2022).

With music theatre „Transparant“ he was Harapha (Samson and Delilah – Händel) and Jupiter (Platée – Rameau) in Antwerp, Utrecht and Drachten (Frysk Festival).
He played and sang in « Biedermann und die Brandstifter » in KVS Brussels, sang in « Prison songs, a Tribute to Alan Lomax » in AB Brussels (2009) and was “Duke Bluebeard” in Bartóks opera (Theater Malpertuis Tielt).

In 2015 he sings the title role in “Monsieur Choufleuri restera chez lui” and “Sarmiento” in “Les Bavards” de J. Offenbach with the Brussels Operettetheater. 
In 2017 he is Dr. Coppelius in “Donna Diva en de Opera-tionele Tijdmachine”, a production created for the Opera of Flandres, now travelling in cultural centres. 
He sings with the new chamber choir “Ghent Singers” (2018). 
He is Morales and Zuniga in "Carmen" (2019, Flemish Symphonic Orchestra)
In 2022 he sings the “Gruffalo” with Spectra in Belgium and the Netherlands.
He often accompanies singers during concerts and projects as the musical director of the company “CloseOpera”, and in the Academy of Tielt and Fontys Hogeschool in Tilburg (Netherlands).

Wouter Vande Ginste behaalt aan het Conservatorium van Gent zijn meestergraad piano met grootste onderscheiding in de klas van Johan Duijck. Hij vervolmaakt zich bij Boyan Vodenitcharov. Hij volgt jazzpiano bij Marc Matthijs en Eric Vermeulen, en speelt bij het “Concord Jazzensemble”. Tegelijkertijd begint hij zijn opleiding zang bij Zeger Vandersteene en vervolgt bij Catherine Vandevelde. Hij neemt masterclasses en lessen bij Loh-Siew Tuan, Graham Johnson, Sarah Walker, Catherine Dubosc (Parijs), Krisztina Laki (Wenen), Martin Kränzle, Axel Everaert en Catrin Wyn Davies.

Hij is gepassioneerd door hedendaagse muziek en muziektheater: “Action Zjoezjoe”, “Biederman en de brandstichters” in de KVS, recitals met werk van Berio en Cage….Als orkestpianist speelt hij o.l.v. Dirk Brossé.

Hij vertolkte o.a. Harapha (Händel) en Jupiter (Rameau) met Muziektheater Transparant en Blauwbaard (Bartók) (Theater Malpertuis Tielt), “Monsieur Choufleuri” en Sarmiento van (J. Offenbach) met het Brussels Operettetheater en “Morales” en “Zuniga” in Carmen (Vlaams Symfonisch Orkest). Verder zingt hij oratorium (o.a. Koffiecantate 2022 Villa Servais Halle) en bij “The Ghent Singers”.

In 2018 zingt en speelt hij de rol van Dr. Coppelius in “Donna Diva en de Opera-tionele Tijdmachine”, een productie voor Opera Vlaanderen, nu op tournee in culturele centra.
In 2022 zingt hij de rol van “De Gruffalo” met het Spectra ensemble in België en Nederland.

Hij is ook actief als componist. Tegenwoordig werkt hij regelmatig samen met zangers van o.a. “CloseOpera”. Hij is gastbegeleider aan de Fontys Hogeschool te Tilburg en School of Arts Gent departement Conservatorium (operaproject “Freedom TV” 2021). Verder is hij pianobegeleider van de zangklas aan de Academie van Tielt, waar hij ook leraar piano, begeleidingspraktijk en ensemble is.
