Édith Piaf, (1915 - 1963) was a French singer, songwriter, composer and actress.She was nicknamed "La Môme Piaf" at the beginning of her career, and was responsible for several hits that have become classics in the repertoire, such as La Vie en rose, Non, je ne regrette rien, Hymne à l'amour, Mon légionnaire, La Foule, Milord, Mon Dieu and L'Accordéoniste.A singer with a striking interpretation and voice, she inspired many composers and was the mentor of young artists such as Yves Montand, Charles Aznavour, Les Compagnons de la chanson, Georges Moustaki, Charles Dumont... She gained international fame, but the end of her career was made difficult by serious health problems; she died at the age of 47.
