Commissioned by the Residentie Orkest in 2021 and arranged for concert band in 2022.
'Unrestrictions' is an energetic five-and-a-half minute long rollercoaster piece about breaking free from its restrictions. Composed as the opening for the new season of the Residentie Orkest and Amare, the piece refers to the reclamation of the musical sector during the corona pandemic, and the end of these restrictions that followed. Through a minimalist approach, the musical motifs break free from their repetitive limitations in a similar manner.
