Divertimento - a concert piece for bass clarinet or bassoon solo with saxophone ensemble
I was once asked to compose a diverting piece for saxophone ensemble. But when the composition was done, I got the message
that they had the chance to play with the famous
Dutch bass clarinet player Harry Sparnaay,so I was asked if I could add a nice solo part for him.
The divertimento was thus given a concertante version,which was successfully performed.
I have now also added a solo bassoon part,
which can be played instead of the bass clarinet.
