Four Airs for Saxophone Quartet Solo with Piano
Together these four pieces are part of one composition,
that is intended as a work for saxophone quartet with piano. So that the individual players of the quartet each can play a solo piece for a change.
The work takes off with a long twelve-tone trill in the piano.
The work ends with a chorale for all four saxophones and piano. So at the end of the piece, all the musicians are on stage together.
Throughout the work there is a certain tendency towards a melancholic atmosphere.
