All the Growing Shadows refers to the feelings of unrest and uncertainty typical of our modern times. Metaphorically the piece takes us through various emotional states. Peace; Anger; Fear; Rage; Love; Sorrow; Tranquility; Mania; Fear; and finally Hope.
Musically, the piece is based around the choral which with the piece begins. All the other material is in some way or another related to this, and especially the raising minor third.
