A setting of the poem 'Daffodils' for SATB chorus (some divisi)
This is an exciting setting of the iconic poem by English Romantic poet William Wordsworth for SATB chorus. It starts with lots of movement and breathless excitement and then suddenly relaxes into a slow meditative mood at the words: "I gazed - and gazed -but little thought what wealth the show to me had brought". The setting finishes with ecstatic chords "my heart...dances with the daffodils".
This is Wordsworth's call over 200 years ago to be mindful of the fragility of the natural world.
