This old, well-known Dutch Christmas carol is attributed to Joseph Alberdingk Thijm and is said to date from 1852. He himself stated that this song was already sung in the 17th century by poor Utrecht children and was recorded by an Utrecht artist. In this challenging arrangement, all voices follow their own beautiful horizontal line, creating a lively harmonization. This version of this beautiful Christmas song is ideally suited as an instrumental piece for a Christmas concert.
