Wind Band
'Prelude on the Navy Hymn' was composed in 2011 for the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy for the annual Corps Concert of the Marine Corps. On 23 November 2011, the work was premiered by Tamboers and Pijpers of the Korps Mariniers, the Marine Band of the Royal Navy, Concertante and Westlandse Koorvereniging Musica conducted by Majoor Harmen Cnossen during the Korpsconcert in De Doelen in Rotterdam. Joop van Dijk made this new version for concert band from the original composition for drums, pipers, mixed choir, organ and wind band. The work is based on the hymn tune 'Eternal Father, strong to save' by John Bacchus Dykes.
