“Travel Sax” for saxophone ensemble, composed by Gijs van Dijk and Chiel Meijering
The composers Chiel Meijering and Gijs van Dijk wanted to surprise their friend Henk van Twillert with a new composition for his saxophone ensemble "Vento do Norte".
After an intense collaboration in which each fragment was bounced a few times between the two composers, they presented "Travel Sax" a work in which each note had traveled up and down from composer to composer so many times that you can no longer see who originally put it into the music.
The work was composed for s,a,a,t,t,b,b,bs. But in a larger ensemble you can double the parts.
