Arrangement of the famous folk song Misirlou, for electric guitar and big band.
Virtuosic and passionate arrangement for solo guitar and big band of the famous Eastern Mediterranean folk song, about the love for the exotic and seductive girl ‘Misirlou’.
Misirlou is a folk song: the original author of the song is not known, but Arabic, Greek and Jewish musicians were playing it by the 1920s.
Dick Dale popularized the song in the Western part of the world with his high-speed surf rock version in 1962, which was used to great effect in Quentin Tarantino’s famous 1994 movie ‘Pulp Fiction’.
It is possible to add a second soloist. For this purpose, two optional solo parts are included: Optional Solo Alto 1 & Optional Solo 2nd Trombone.
